Position: Lunch Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Multiple Locations
Reports To: Principal/Assistant Principal
Work Year: School Year Only
Work Schedule: Up to 10 hours per week. 1-2 hours per day during lunch
Wage: $15.40 per hour (this position is not eligible for leave time or benefits)
Position Summary
The lunch assistant is responsible for monitoring student behavior during lunch and recess. Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria including recycling, and trash removal, and assists with the flow of meal service. Work is performed under the general supervision of the principal or assistant principal.
Essential Functions and Primary Responsibilities
- Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students and monitoring behavior
- Monitor and supervise both indoor and outdoor recess as directed
- Communicate with students and school staff positively and professionally
- Assists with the cleanliness of the cafeteria by clearing and washing tables, removing trash, stacking chairs, moving tables, etc.
- Participates in training and meetings as directed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Employment Qualifications
- EDUCATION: This position requires knowledge equivalent to that, which normally would be acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- EXPERIENCE: No Experience required.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear.
