Position: Campus Safety and Security (32.5 hours per week)
Location: Kraft Meadows Intermediate School
Reports To: Building Principal/Designee
Compensation: $15.51 per hour or more depending on experience, 183 days per year

Position Summary
Under the supervision and direction of the Principal/Assistant Principal, the Safety and Security Monitor will assist administrators in creating a safe and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides supervision of the halls, common areas, lunchroom, and other locations as directed
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and work from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM on evenings when school events are scheduled
- Conducts regular building security checks
- Positively interact with students
- Patrols parking lots, building grounds, and other areas as directed
- Assist with visitor check-in and check-out
- Monitors and accompanies students between activities or classes as directed
- Actively participates in the planning and implementation of crisis drills and emergency planning
- Serves on the building crisis and medical emergency response team
- Know and understand the Standard Response Protocols
- Accompanies visitors and guests when moving throughout the building as directed
- Supervises student groups to ensure rules are followed, the order is maintained, and no one is endangered
- Intervenes promptly to curtail inappropriate or disruptive behavior
- Watches for possible hazards and removes items harmful to students, employees, or visitors
- Ensures students are adhering to district policies, including checking student bathrooms and other areas for compliance
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding student behavior concerns
- Directs traffic before and after school as needed
- Collaborates with administration on issues of parking and driving
- Attends in-services, workshops, and training programs as requested by the supervisor
- Must be highly visible to students and staff
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal
Employment Qualifications
- EDUCATION: A high school diploma/GED is required.
- Coursework in health care or nursing is desirable, but not required.
- CPR Certification or willingness to become certified within 60 days of employment.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Assists in the transfer of students to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning. Lift up to 50 pounds.
